Dry Eye Symptoms

Dry eye disease can feel different for everyone, but the most common symptoms include:

  • Burning or stinging sensation in the eyes

  • Gritty or sandy feeling (like something is in your eye)

  • Redness and irritation

  • Watery eyes (your eyes may “over-react” by producing poor-quality tears)

  • Blurred or fluctuating vision

  • Light sensitivity

  • Eye fatigue — especially after reading, computer use, or driving

  • Difficulty wearing contact lenses comfortably

  • Stringy mucus around the eyes

Dry eye symptoms often come and go, but without treatment they usually get worse over time. If you notice these signs regularly, it may be time for a professional evaluation.
